Center for Environmental Remote Sensing (CEReS),Chiba Universiy, Japan. Breaf Self Introduction: HIGUCHI, Atsushi (HIGUCHI is a family name, Atsushi is 1st name, please call him "Atsushi") was born in Ashikaga City, Tochigi in 1971, but raised in Matsudo City, Chiba, Japan. He received the B.Sci. Degree in College of Natural Sciences, First Cluster of Colleges of University of Tsukuba, Japan, in 1994. He received M.Sci. and Ph.D. (Sci.) Degrees in Doctoral Program in Geoscience, University of Tsukuba, Japan in 1996 and 1999, respectively. After the completion in Ph.D Program, he worked in the Center for Environmental Remote Sensing (CEReS), Chiba University, as a Postdoctoral Fellow in 1999. He worked as a permanent Research Associate in IHAS and HyARC (now ISEE), Nagoya University, from 2000 to 2005. From 2005 to 2024, he got back to CEReS as a permanent associate professor, and then a full professor from 2024 to now. His interests (majors) are hydrology and satellite climatology. Particularly he interest in the role of "water" in the Earth system via analysis of Earth observed satellite datasets. As a faculty staff's professional works in CEReS, he has been responsible for satellite data archiving for the science community and societies as one of DAACs (Data Active Archiving Centers). |
