ヨサファット研究室を志望する留学生は、以下の情報をヨサファット教授にご提出ください。
1. 学部・修士課程の指導教員名、その所属・住所、学会所属、研究分野・内容、軍との共同研究の有無
2. 学部および修士課程での論文（PDF形式）
3. 学部・修士課程の指導教員または他の研究者による推薦書
4. ヨサファット研究室で修士課程または博士課程を修了した後、希望する就職分野

研究室ゼミ
ヨサファット研究室では、学部生・大学院生の勉学と研究の質を高く維持するため、週2回のゼミ（火曜日・金曜日の12:50～14:20）を実施します。 研究室のコアタイムは13:00～17:00で、この時間帯であれば平日の午後、学生・大学院生はいつでもヨサファット先生に相談できます。

① 博士前期課程（一般選抜、ダブルディグリープログラム、BRINのDBRプログラムを対象）

専門科目について
専門科目の筆記試験はありません。

卒業研究（またはこれまでに取り組んだ研究等）の概要および大学院での研究計画について、事前に以下の資料を作成し、当日10部持参してください。
・A4用紙2ページ（パワーポイント8枚分を、1ページに4枚ずつ配置したもの）
　この資料の内容および学部等での履修内容を踏まえて、大学院での研究計画について口頭試問を行います。
・試問形式：10分の発表＋質疑応答
・評価項目：志望動機、環境リモートセンシングに関する基礎知識、研究意欲、修了後のキャリアデザイン、提出資料・発表内容 など

語学スコアについて
TOEIC、TOEFL等のスコア票は口頭試問時に回収しますので、原本およびコピーを必ず持参してください。
オンラインで口頭試問を受ける場合は、出願時にスコア票を添付してください。

博士課程研究進捗状況・博士論文事前審査　ヨサファット研版【English Version】【Japanese Version】

千葉大学大学院 融合理工学府 地球環境科学専攻 リモートセンシングコース 博士後期課程修了プロセス
博士後期課程学生の博士修了までの過程については、基本的な教育を主指導教員の主導で行い、一定の水準に達した学生をコース全体でサポートできる体制とする。

1. 第一次事前審査
・時期：D2後期（4月入学の場合は10月～翌年3月、10月入学の場合は4月～9月）
・審査方法：主指導教員を含む教員3名以上を審査員とする。
・判定：全員一致で承認された場合、その結果をコースに報告し、第二次審査へ進むことができる。

2. 第二次事前審査
・時期：・D3前期（4月入学の場合は4月～9月、10月入学の場合は10月～翌年3月）
・審査方法：主指導教員を含む教員3名以上を審査員とする。
・判定：コース会議で審議を行い、過半数以上の承認を得た場合、予備審査へ進むことができる。

3. 早期修了の場合
・修了期間を短縮する場合は、スケジュールを前倒しして実施する。
・必要に応じて第一次事前審査を免除する場合もある（要検討）。

4. 進捗報告
博士後期課程学生の進捗状況は、年1回以上コース会議で報告する（ヨサファット研究室版のテンプレートを使用すること）。 問題がある場合は、コース全体で対応策を検討する。

5. 学位論文審査基準
博士学位論文は、以下の基準に基づき審査する。
・地球環境科学専攻の各コースの専門分野に関連する内容であること
・独創性、新規性、普遍性、論証性などの高い学術的価値を有すること
・学術論文として論理的にまとめられ、高度な完成度を備えていること
・学位申請者が学術研究における倫理性を有していること
なお、査読付き論文は必要条件であるが、それのみで十分条件とはならないことに留意する。

Who will enroll to Josaphat Laboratory

Undergraduate
The Josaphat Laboratory (JMRSL) belongs to the Department of Urban Engineering (DOU), Faculty of Engineering, Chiba University. Undergraduate students in this department can be assigned to the Josaphat Laboratory.

Graduate School　
The Josaphat Laboratory belongs to the Environmental Remote Sensing Course, Department of Earth Environmental Science, Graduate School of Science and Engineering, Chiba University. Graduate students in the Master’s Program (Doctoral Program – First Phase) and the Doctoral Program (Doctoral Program – Second Phase) are enrolled in this course and receive education and conduct research at the Josaphat Laboratory. International students who wish to apply for the Josaphat Laboratory are requested to provide the following information to Professor Josaphat:
1. Names of supervisors during undergraduate and/or master’s programs, their affiliation and address, academic society membership, research fields and topics, and whether there was any collaboration with the military.
2. Undergraduate and master’s theses (in PDF format).
3. A letter of recommendation from your supervisors or another researcher.
4. Desired employment field after completing a Master’s or Doctoral program at the Josaphat Laboratory.
5. A one-page research proposal (in PDF format). Whether the proposed research falls under the listed by the Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry (METI) technology matrix .
6. Whether you plan to study as a privately funded student or under a scholarship. If scholarship-funded, please specify the type of scholarship.

Laboratory Seminar
At the Josaphat Laboratory, in order to maintain a high standard of learning and research for undergraduate and graduate students, we hold seminars twice a week (Tuesdays and Fridays from 12:50 to 14:20). The laboratory’s core time is from 13:00 to 17:00, during which students and graduate students can freely consult with Professor Josaphat on weekdays.

1. Master Program (General selection, Double Degree Program, BRIN Degree by Research Program)
Specialized subjects:
There is no written examination for specialized subjects.

Applicants are required to prepare the following materials in advance, summarizing their undergraduate thesis (or previous research work) and their proposed research plan for graduate school. Please bring 10 copies on the examination day.

・Two A4 pages (8 PowerPoint slides, arranged 4 slides per page)
Based on the submitted materials and the applicant’s coursework background, an oral examination will be conducted.
・Format: 10-minute presentation + Q&A
・Evaluation criteria: motivation for applying, basic knowledge of environmental remote sensing, research interest, career design after graduation, quality of submitted materials and presentation

Language Proficiency Scores
TOEIC, TOEFL, or equivalent score reports will be collected during the oral examination. Please bring both the original and a copy.

Oral Examination for Admission
The oral examination will last 40 minutes (20 minutes for presentation + 20 minutes for questions and discussion).

Doctoral Completion Process
Remote Sensing Course, Department of Earth Environmental Science, Graduate School of Science and Engineering, Chiba University
The process toward doctoral completion is primarily guided by the principal supervisor, and once students reach a certain level, the entire course provides support.

1. First Preliminary Review
・Timing: In the second half of D2 (October–March for April entrants, April–September for October entrants)
・Method: Conducted by three or more faculty members including the principal supervisor
・Judgment: If unanimously approved by all reviewers, the result will be reported to the course, and the student may proceed to the second review.

2.Second Preliminary Review
・Timing: In the first half of D3 (April–September for April entrants, October–March for October entrants)
・Method: Conducted by three or more faculty members including the principal supervisor
・Judgment: Reviewed at the course meeting, and if approved by a majority, the student may proceed to the formal preliminary review.

3. Early Completion
・For students aiming for early completion, the schedule will be advanced accordingly.
・In some cases, the first preliminary review may be waived (subject to consideration).

4. Progress Reports
The progress of doctoral students must be reported at least once a year at the course meeting (using the Josaphat Laboratory template). If issues arise, the course as a whole will consider appropriate countermeasures.

5. Dissertation Evaluation Criteria
Doctoral dissertations are evaluated based on the following criteria:
・Relevance to the specialized fields of the Department of Earth Environmental Science
・High academic value in terms of originality, novelty, universality, and sound reasoning
・Logical structure and high level of completeness as a scholarly work
・Ethical conduct of the applicant in academic research
Note: Peer-reviewed publications are a necessary condition but not sufficient on their own.
