International SKYNET Workshop 2013

Program

The final version of the program is available here. It has been organized according to the following two main scopes of the workshop:

(1) SKYNET Management Session

The administration and strategy of the SKYNET as a GAW contributing network are mainly discussed. In this session, presentations will be made by several speakers, who are invited/selected in advance (ideally the representative for each country/region). In addition, relevant topics (WMO/GAW, AERONET, etc.) are expected to be included. This session is open to all participants of this workshop. We expect the session to be stimulated through discussion among all participants.

(2) Science Session

Recent results and findings of studies related to science and technoloy on aerosols, clouds, and atmospheric radiation will be presented. Any presentations related to SKYNET and the following topics are welcomed:

Aerosol, cloud, and radiation studies from ground-based and satellite remote sensors
Numerical modeling of aerosols and clouds and their validations
Atmospheric correction
Sensor development, calibration, and validation for atmospheric observations
Observation network management and data sharing policy

It should be noted that selected papers will be considered to be published in the "SKYNET special issue" of the Journal of the Meteorological Society of Japan.
A "Call for papers" document about the SKYNET special issue is available.
